In 2000, the Professional Regulation Commission gave Wash the Golden Medallion of Professional Excellence and Business Leadership.

In 2001, Wash received his honorary doctorate degree from former University of the Philippines President Francisco Nemenzo Jr.

In 2002, the AIM W. SyCip Graduate School of Business is launched, with no less than former president Cory Aquino in attendance. President Cory presented Wash with an Impy Pilapil sculpture on behalf of the Aim Board of Governors for his generous contributions.

Wash received the 2004 New Silk Road Award from the California-Asia Business Council in San Francisco.

In 2004, Wash received the Y.C. James Yen Citizen of the World Award from the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction.

In 2006, the Federal Republic of Germany conferred to Wash the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Merit.

60 years of SGV & Co.
In 2006, SGV & Co. celebrated its 60th anniversary. The company Wash started as a one-man team now had 75 partners and nearly 2,000 professional staff.

In March 2007, the incorrigible 86-year-old Wash goes to Vietnam to address the regional meeting of the American Chambers of Commerce.

The one-hectare Washington SyCip Park, an oasis in the middle of Makati, is opened in 2007.

In 2007, Wash was elected chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ramon Magsaysay Awards Foundation.
